Giannis Antetokounmpo Reveals His Heartwarming Meeting With Michael Jordan: “Surprised He Knew Who I Was”

Giannis Antetokounmpo, the superstar of the Milwaukee Bucks, has done a lot in his NBA career. He has earned NBA MVP awards, as well as an NBA Championship and the NBA Finals MVP award. Just like every other 90s kid, Giannis was also a big fan of Michael Jordan while growing up. He finally got the opportunity to meet his idol during the recent All-Star game.

After hitting the 29th triple-double of his career, the Greek Freak just eclipsed Michael Jordan’s tally of triple doubles and now ranks 18th all-time.

“I asked if he (Michael Jordan) was here, but they told me he was not here at first. But then I saw him when he came out and I was kind of like in shock,” Giannis said.

“Arguably the best player to ever play the game. It’s crazy. I just went up to him to introduce myself. I was kind of surprised he knew who I was… no I’m just joking.”

Giannis stated that he was first informed that Michael Jordan would not be present. But when he saw him, he was speechless. Nobody can blame the Greek Freak for being star-struck after meeting the great Michael Jordan. But he’s starting to build a name for himself in history. The Bucks’ great forward has won the league MVP award twice.

Giannis is one of the favorites to win it again this year as well. Last season, he led Milwaukee back from a 2-0 deficit to win the NBA Finals in six games against the Phoenix Suns.

In the recent NBA All-Star Game, Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 30 points to help Team LeBron defeat Team Durant.
