Giannis Antetokounmpo Limps During Greece’s Win Over Estonia in EuroBasket: What Does Greek Freak’s Discomfort Mean For Milwaukee Bucks?
Since 2009, when Antetokounmpo was just 14 years old, Greece hasn’t taken home a medal at EuroBasket. In Greece’s 90-69 victory against Estonia at EuroBasket 2022, Giannis Antetokounmpo put on yet another dominant effort, scoring 25 points on 9-for-10 shooting.
Giannis scored all of his points in the first half, including two on highlight-reel dunks, as he left the game early in the third quarter due to a slight right ankle strain. Greece and the Bucks both lose from this. When Antetokounmpo left the arena, he was clearly limping.
The two-time NBA MVP is supposed “all okay,” although he was hobbling despite the fact that his injury wasn’t serious or requiring crutches. This is surely not good news for the Milwaukee Bucks.
Giannis Antetokounmpo injury scare for Milwaukee Bucks
Antetokounmpo received ice and treatment, according to Greece coach Dimitrios Itoudis, who did not seem concerned.
“It’s all good,” Itoudis said.

Milwaukee Bucks start their pre-season on 2nd October against Memphis Grizzlies. The pre-season opener is less than a month away and Giannis’ injury scare could be a big blow for the Bucks. If Green continues to push Giannis in the coming games at the EuroBasket, the injury could get aggravated and it’s more bad news for the Bucks.
The Bucks might have to give Giannis some rest before the beginning of the season. But they would also want him to be in the best shape when the season starts. Bucks will travel to Philadelphia for their NBA 2022-23 season opener late in October. Giannis Antetokounmpo could get a few weeks of rest and then get back to his fitness for the season. However, it all depends on how bad his injury is.
