In order to promote body positivity, Wiebke Schwartau, who just launched a clothing line specifically for tall women, made the decision to compete in the German version of “supermodel.”

“I participated because I had never seen a very tall woman on television. And I knew how difficult it was for me to grow up, in the true sense of the word, in a world that doesn’t think that’s nice,” stated the basketball player in terms that were published by The Sun.

Regarding the show “Germany’s Next Top Model,” Schwartau provided clarification and said, “although the format is questionable and I don’t really support it, I needed the platform”.

“As a child and teenager, I was not a confident person, but basketball was always a safe place for me. It was a refuge and a constant in my life through which I was able to develop my self-confidence.”
