Gardner Minshew set to start at QB for Philadelphia Eagles in Week 16

The Philadelphia Eagles have announced that Gardner Minshew will be starting for the team in their Week 16 clash against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. The quarterback will replace Jalen Hurts who is unavailable due to a shoulder injury.

Minshew will start his first game of the 2022-23 NFL season this weekend and there is plenty of anticipation from the Eagles faithful to see how their backup quarterback will perform. Although Minshew has featured in three games for the Eagles this season, this will be the first time that he grabs the limelight as a starter.

The Eagles have already made it to the postseason thanks to Hurts’ heroics. They are currently the best team in the league with a 13-1 record after 14 games. However, a win over the Cowboys in Week 16 will guarantee Philadelphia the NFC East divisional title.

However, the Cowboys will not turn over so easily. They will fight until the end and possibly hope to overturn the results in their favor despite three weeks of football remaining in the rest of the regular season.

Gardner Minshew’s stats and records in the NFL

Minshew has a total of 6,003 passing yards on 544 attempts with 41 touchdowns and 12 interceptions in his NFL career so far. The quarterback also has managed to record 516 rushing yards and one touchdown on the ground.

Gardner Minshew made his debut in the NFL in 2019 with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He played two seasons with the team before joining the Eagles last year.

He will be hoping to get his first touchdown of the campaign against the Cowboys this weekend.
