Full list of Los Angeles Chargers Roster Cuts ahead of NFL 2022-23 season

All NFL teams currently have 53 players on their rosters after the final roster cuts. Depending on how competitive specific positions were, there may typically be some surprises each year. Teams need to make some difficult decisions. As the regular season approaches, let’s take a look at the Los Angeles Chargers roster cuts and talk about the surprises, non-surprises, or just other noteworthy choices.

The release of star preseason receiver Michael Bandy is still disappointing, but for some people who didn’t hold out much hope in the first place, this may come as less of a surprise. He was unquestionably the greatest backup offensive player in the preseason, but the Chargers have recently seemed unwilling to keep six wide receivers despite the fact that there isn’t really a good reason to carry three quarterbacks on the active squad (which would have freed up a slot).

The Chargers’ receiving depth is sufficient for them to avoid being broken by this, but if another club selects him, they might come to regret their decision. He has little chance of making the Chargers practice squad and clearing waivers.

Essentially every other player who was eliminated from the roster was less significant; they were either undrafted free agents who didn’t have enough of an effect or other stalwart practice squad competitors (Joe Gaziano, Jason Moore, Joe Reed, Emeke Egbule). Apart from Bandy and Covington and possibly the fact that no one could replace Rountree, there weren’t many blatant surprises.

The Chargers obtained a With a final 53-man roster that, for the most part, appears to be pretty good, the Chargers can now move on. The club and the fans can begin preparing for Week 1, when they will play the Las Vegas Raiders, in an effort to avenge how last season ended.
