From Horrible Season To Heartbreak: Colorado Coach Deion Sanders Went Through A Lot Of Criticism

Jason Whitlock was spinning his wheels again, attempting to come up with anything to say about Deion Sanders. The contributor to The Blaze and FOX Sports Radio has always been unrelenting, but this may be a new low.

From Horrible Season To Heartbreak: Colorado Coach Deion Sanders Went Through A Lot Of Criticism

Hot take machine and Blaze TV talking head Jason Whitlock went so far as to brand him a “false god” after the team’s defeat at the hands of Stanford.

“Because we have our racial idolatry lenses on, we don’t care about Travis Hunter. All we care about is Deion “Prime Time” because we’re groupies for Deion. And we don’t care who gets exploited in the name of Deion. Deion is your God, and you’re mad at me because he’s not my god. And you’re mad at me because I’m telling you that you’re worshipping a false god.”

After becoming a Hall of Fame athlete, Coach Prime joined the Power Five coaching staff. This was also no coincidence. It would be misleading to imply that he is approaching this endeavor at this point in his life in the same way as Ball. Sanders is developing greater possibilities for young guys by bringing them in. This extends well beyond the field-use product.

In addition to releasing these unfavorable player testimonies, Whitlock denigrated Sanders’ reputation by labeling him a terrible father.

“We watched the quarterback of that team run around and be a little jerk on the field, flaunt his wealth, and act like a spoiled, pampered, and entitled little rich Johnny Manziel… And at no point during this entire season did the head coach put any blame on his quarterback. He’s untouchable, he’s aloof, he’s uncoachable, he’s petulant, he’s entitled, and he’s spoiled because that’s what his daddy has allowed.”

Colorado started the year with a victory over TCU, the previous year’s runner-up in the national championship. They went on to win two more straight, and at that point, Shedeur, Sanders’ son, was being discussed as a possible Heisman dark horse and Sanders as Coach of the Year. However, Colorado dropped eight of their last nine games, and the criticism began to mount.

Following a romance spanning over ten years, Sanders and Edmonds said they were calling off their engagement and getting divorced.

In her first social media post following the news, 56-year-old Edmonds expressed gratitude to all of her supporters.

In a joint statement that was later removed from her Instagram account, Sanders and Edmonds stated that they had mutually decided to end their relationship.

“To EVERYONE who has been there for us, supported us, and shown us love… We have mutually decided that it is best for us to move forward in life AS FRIENDS and have made this decision with love in our hearts, respect for each other, and appreciation for the time we’ve shared together,” the post stated.

Why is Deion Sanders called Coach Prime?

Throughout his playing career, spanning from high school to the NFL’s major leagues, he was referred to as “Prime Time”. Naturally, then, that nickname was modified to fit his new position when he became a coach, and so the moniker “Coach Prime” was established.

How many Super Bowl rings does Deion Sanders have?

Sanders’ career included two Super Bowl victories. In Super Bowl XXIX, the 49ers defeated the San Diego Chargers 49–26, and in Super Bowl XXX, the Cowboys defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 27–17, with him starting at left cornerback.

Why is Deion Sanders famous?

Sanders, a two-time Florida State All-American, was selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the first round of the 1989 NFL Draft. The only player to have participated in both the World Series and the Super Bowl in professional sports history is him.
