Former Sacramento Kings Star Arrested For Attempted Robbery: All You Need to Know

Donte Greene, a former Sacramento Kings player, was detained in Elkhart County after allegedly attempting to rob a gas station employee in Goshen last week, according to the police. Greene, who spent four seasons between 2008 and 2012 playing in the NBA and NBA Development League, has been charged with attempted robbery in relation to the incident in which witnesses claim he rushed at a worker at a convenience shop.

On November 8, just before a report about a guy attempting to rob a gas station clerk, police received a complaint about a drunk motorist in the neighborhood. Officers were alerted by dispatchers that there had been a 911 call reporting a robbery at the nearby Phillips 66 petrol station while they were looking for the automobile.

Donte Greene’s career at Sacramento Kings

Donte Greene spent one year playing collegiate basketball for the Syracuse Orange before the Memphis Grizzlies picked him with the 28th overall choice in the 2008 NBA Draft. Greene was assigned to the NBA Development League’s Reno Bighorns on January 10, 2009. The Kings then called him up after impressive performances. He went on to spend four seasons with the Kings before moving abroad.

His stats with Sacramento Kings:

2008–09 55 4 13.2 0.326 0.26 0.853 1.6 0.5 0.3 0.3 3.8

2011–12 53 7 14.7 0.406 0.238 0.8 2.5 0.6 0.3 0.5 5.4

Despite this, Greene was still selected in the first round of the 2008 NBA Draft by the Memphis Grizzlies, selecting 28th overall, before being traded to the Houston Rockets and Sacramento Kings. Greene, however, did not grow, and by 2013, he was a professional player in Puerto Rico. Before joining the Big 3 league, he played professionally in China, the Dominican Republic, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, and Taiwan.

Greene faces a one- to six-year jail sentence if found guilty on the attempted robbery charge. The reason Greene was in Goshen is not stated in the court filings.
