Former NFL TE Aaron Hernandez’s Ex-Fiance Accused of Mishandling Funds Over $830k After His Death

Concerns have been raised about how Aaron Hernandez’s fiancée is spending money from the late NFL player’s trust fund that was meant for the couple’s 10-year-old kid. He spent three seasons with the New England Patriots in the National Football League (NFL), but his playing days were cut short when he was arrested and found guilty of killing Odin Lloyd.

Aaron Hernandez was discovered dead in his cell and it was determined that he committed suicide days after being cleared of the double killing. Following Aaron Hernandez’s 2017 suicide while serving a murder sentence, his ex-fiancée wanted a court-appointed trustee to use funds from a trust fund set up for their daughter, Avielle, to pay the cost.

The former NFL tight end and Shayanna Jenkins-Hernandez were never married and did not have a will, so her only legal responsibility is as the custodian of the funds left for their kid.

Jenkins-legal Hernandez’s team, who claimed the costs were for her daughter, issued a bill for reimbursement from the trust fund. David Schwartz, the fund’s trustee, and attorney opposed the proposal after seeing the costs.

Jenkins-Hernandez reportedly spent thousands of dollars on a variety of items, including $36,858 on apparel, close to $40,000 on household goods, and close to $12,000 on “self-care” activities including trips to hair and manicure salons, according to the Boston Globe.

The arrest of Aaron Hernandez, the star tight end for the Patriots, exposed the NFL’s worst side and was one of the most startling moments in American sports history. The mother of two, who delivered a second daughter in 2018, has also asked that Schwartz be changed as trustee, claiming that the lawyer is preventing Avielle from engaging in her passion.
