Former NFL QB Blake Bortles’s Retirement Plans Includes Constructing His Home

According to Barstool Sports, the retired quarterback has become so bored in his retirement that he has joined the crew building his house.

“I found out a hilarious fact about Bortles,” a source told the outlet. “He’s building a house in Florida and he’s so bored he asked to join the construction crew. So he’s helping do that every day.”

After being selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars with the third overall choice in the 2014 NFL Draft out of the University of Central Florida, Blake Bortles played in the NFL for eight seasons before announcing his retirement at the end of the 2021 campaign.

Over the weekend, fans responded to the tale on social media.

“The man does not lie,” a user laughed.

“I got to use the big digger thing and put the dirt in the dump truck!” a Bortles parody account replied.

“I sometimes forget which one is Gabbert and which one is Bortles, if i’m being honest,” a fan admitted.

“The BOAT just doing BOAT things,” tweeted Barstool UCF.

“This is the perfect time time to resurrect the Don’t Care Bortles memes,” another commented.

Bortles played for the Los Angeles Rams, Denver Broncos, Green Bay Packers, and New Orleans Saints throughout his career in the NFL.

His five seasons in Jacksonville were the only ones in which he started. From 2015 through 2017, Bortles started every game for the Jaguars, and in 2017, he even guided them to the AFC Championship game against the New England Patriots.

Bortles had a career record of 24-49, completed 59.3% of his throws for 17,649 yards, 103 touchdowns, and 75 interceptions, and had a passer rating of 103. He gained an additional 1,766 yards and eight touchdowns on the ground.
