According to officials who spoke with Nola.com, the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office detained 38-year-old Kevin J. Thompson of New Orleans in June. Thompson and Thomas’ ex-wife, Nina, are in a relationship.

Thompson faces charges of embezzling money from Thomas’ bank account, cashing his NFL checks, and changing ownership of multiple cars.

According to Nola.com, he is accused of crimes “including identity theft, forgery, money laundering, credit card fraud, computer fraud, and bank fraud.”

Kevin J. Thompson, Thomas’s envious partner and thief, reportedly opened bank accounts, deposited and withdrew checks, and took ownership of many automobiles owned by Thomas using a fictitious driver’s license he had created in order to assume Thomas’ identity.

Thompson was taken into custody by the Johnson Parish Sheriff’s Office in June. He is dating Nina Thomas, who filed for divorce from Earl in 2020, a few months after she allegedly held the former Seahawks star at gunpoint due to infidelity.

They continued to have run-ins; in one instance, officials ordered him to keep at least 400 feet away from her after they were said to have flashed firearms at one other in a parking lot.

In 2022, Earl broke a restraining order against Nina, which led to the issuance of an arrest warrant for the “Legion of Boom” mainstay.

It is projected that the football player has lost a total of $1.9 million.

Three-time All-Pro Safety Thomas is regarded as a vital component of the Seahawks’ illustrious “Legion of Boom” defense. In the 2010 NFL Draft, Thomas was selected as the 14th overall choice. He played a key role in the Seahawks’ 43-8 victory against Peyton Manning’s Broncos in Super Bowl XLVIII. Subsequently, Thomas signed with the Ravens for what turned out to be his last NFL season, 2019.
