Former NBA Star Nick Young Shows His Support For Lakers Russell Westbrook: “Russ Can’t Be Blamed”

Nick Young, a former NBA player, provided Russell Westbrook of the LA Lakers some encouragement. Young emphasised the bad state of the Lakers’ current squad while also pointing out that Westbrook may have won a championship if the team had been different.

Former NBA Star Nick Young Stands With Lakers Russell Westbrook

With the LA Lakers, Nick Young had some of his most fruitful NBA seasons. Young has become a fan favourite and has gained a solid grasp of the thoughts and feelings of the Purple and Gold faithful.

Most Lakers supporters will agree that Russell Westbrook is primarily to blame for the team’s current predicament if you ask them. Fans primarily blame Westbrook for finally ending this Lakers season, disregarding Rob Pelinka’s part in building the roster.

However, despite a poor performance in each of his first three games, Russ does have some fans, and they have recently started to show up in large numbers.

Young noted the present circumstances surrounding the LA Lakers and nine-time All-Star Russell Westbrook in this regard.

Nick Young recently intervened to make things better. Young posted the following in an effort to support Westbrook on social media:

“Put Russ on the 2019-2020 and 20-21 yrs the lakers win back to back if Ad dnt get hurt .. you can’t blame Russ when your starting lineup is Pat blv, walker, Russ, LeBron and Ad.. if im the other team im letting everybody shoot im leaving the whole team open …”

While Young did a good job of emphasising Westbrook’s track record of leading the team to victories, he also managed to take a fairly direct jab at a few of the roster members. The team was criticised in Young’s attempt to defend Russell Westbrook as he also singled out guys like Patrick Beverley and Lonnie Walker IV in addition to the superstar trio.

As things stand, the Lakers are once again in a fairly difficult circumstance. The Purple and Gold will be forced to resume trade talks since fans are clamouring for a deal.

Westbrook has not worked out well for the Lakers, but he is not the only issue they have. The Lakers sold their veterans for young, athletic guards this summer, but they somehow overlooked adding shooters, one of the most crucial positions on any team.

The Lakers truly have little chance of competing against teams like the Warriors and Bucks, who appear to be among the league’s top once again, without good shooting.
