Former MLB Pitcher Danny Serafini Arrested Under The Charge Of Murder
Danny Serafini, a 1992 first-round draft selection who went on to pitch for six big league clubs, was one of two persons detained in Nevada on Friday in relation to an incident that occurred near Lake Tahoe and resulted in the death of a man and the serious injury of his wife.

Pitcher Serafini, who spent seven seasons in the major leagues, and pitcher Samantha Scott were taken into custody early on Friday in relation to the June 2021 murder of Robert Gary Spohr, who was discovered decapitated.

WLWT5 reports that Serafini and Scott are also being charged for their potential roles in the attempted murder of Wendy Wood, 68.
After the shooting, Wood was admitted to the hospital and managed to live; however, ten months later, she committed herself, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

The 49-year-old Serafini and the 33-year-old Samantha Scott were detained separately hundreds of miles apart in Las Vegas and northwest of Reno following a two-year investigation. According to the authorities, they were acquainted with both the victims, Robert Gary Spohr and his spouse Wendy Wood.
Hours before the attack, according to authorities, a guy with a bag, face covering, and gray sweatshirt was seen approaching the Spohr and Wood residence on camera. The same man can be seen going up the driveway in another footage.

The house was visited by deputies after to a 911 call. They found that Wood had been shot at least twice and Spohr had only been hit once.
The Placer County Sheriff’s Office is in the process of setting up the extradition of both suspects to California, where they will be prosecuted for attempted and actual murder.

The Minnesota Twins chose the former left-handed pitcher in the first round of the 1992 MLB draft. Serafini spent seven seasons pitching for six different organizations. He had an ERA of 6.04, 15 wins, 16 losses, and 127 strikeouts.
