Former Lakers Player Danny Green Points Out “Rob Pelinka” As The Reason Behind The Crisis Lakers Is Facing

One of the better shooters to suit up for the purple and gold, Danny Green, has recently been perplexed by the composition of this squad, even as Laker fans implore Rob Pelinka to add some shooters to this roster.

It goes without saying that the Los Angeles Lakers now have one of the NBA’s worst-built rosters surrounding superstar LeBron James. Darvin Ham, the team’s coach, is blamed by some for his lack of management skills, and many others lay the finger at Russell Westbrook since he is an easy target. The guy is not in the best of form right now, and his lack of chemistry with his teammates makes him appear more like a liability than a help.

But even without Westbrook, his team was defeated. Former Lakers player Danny Green has since expressed a desire to speak about the situation and thinks that someone else—someone entirely different—is to blame.

Danny Green Points Out Rob Pelinka To Be The Problem

In an interview with Howard Beck on “The Crossover,” Danny Green shared several ideas about roster construction that have become popular among this fan base, but hearing them from a current player and former Laker has a different effect.

When asked if he had any thoughts on what had transpired with the 2020 title team over the previous two years, Green’s response wasn’t exactly unexpected.

“In all the teams I’ve been on, you have the feeling of belonging to a group, to home and to the organisation itself. But we all know what happened and happens there,” said Green, sending a clear message.

“It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out what fits with LeBron James and Anthony Davis. But they don’t seem to have it so clear there,” he finished.

The fact that Danny Green, one of the first players to ever be given the 3-and-D designation and a career 40% 3-point shooter, is making this criticism not lost on the listener. Even though Schröder ended up being a good fit for the Lakers, Green was the first spacer the team opted to let go. Unfortunately, this was the beginning of a gloomy pattern over the following two seasons.
