Five Rookies who could prove to be a game-changer this year in NFL

Game Changer Five NFL Rookies

.

Before the 2021 National Football League (NFL) draft took place, there was a buzz in the air about the probable picks for respective teams. Now that the decisions have already been made, the real speculation game starts. Which set of rookies is going to establish themselves as the future stars? Well, we got no tarot cards in here, but we can analyze the top five rookies who have in them what’s needed to outperform the rest on the top level.

Trevor Lawrence

Trevor Lawrence is one of the most interesting players to watch, or at least he was so in the college league. The Jacksonville Jaguars selected Trevor Lawrence as the first overall selection in the NFL draft a few days ago. The team signed a four-year contract with the rookie.

Many pundits claim him to be the best QB prospect since Andrew Luck. Well, the authenticity of the claim can only be verified once he takes the ground against the big league players. But one thing is undeniable, that is Lawrence has long arms and is more mobile than a lot of his competitors.

Zach Wilson

Wilson is undoubtedly the most entertaining freshman quarterback to watch. He has a rapid release, a catapult, and can make snap throws from a variety of positions. He’s also very quick on the pitch. Many football experts believe that Zach has a tendency similar to Patrick Mahomes. However, they also admit that Wilson must prove himself in the biggest platform in order to be counted in Mahomes’ league.

He throws mainly from empty pockets. The concern here is that he had surgery on his throwing shoulder, which he would hope to recover fast and well. His aim should be to improvise on the field and sprint around. In that regard, endurance might be a concern for him in the NFL, especially during the early days.

Trey Lance

Lance, like Wilson, is a fantastic player. However, in terms of skills, he might not have been tested for the big boys’ league. This is mainly because he used to play for a small school where he didn’t have to deal with strong defenses. As a result, he will need a season to adapt to the pace of the NFL game, particularly because he has only made 13 starts since high school. However, he has the potential to become a high-level starting quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, although Jimmy Garoppolo currently holds the starting position.

Michael Carter

The New York Jets running back Carter has a fair chance to prove himself as one of the best Day 3 draft steals. The North Carolina running back, who was selected 107th overall, comes to New York fresh off back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons with the Tar Heels. As a runner, he mixes quickness, vision, and elusiveness with pass-catching skills to make an impact on all three downs.

Justin Fields

Fields is talented, swift, and more importantly, physically able to flourish in the quarterback position. He went to Georgia at first but just threw 39 passes there. After that, he went to Ohio State. This was a blunder. Ohio State is a powerhouse in college football, but it has never produced a good NFL quarterback. Maybe, Fields will be the first world-class QB coming out of Ohio. After all, he possesses all the skillsets to become one.
