First Year Rookie Chris Olave of the New Orleans Saints Wins Offensive Rookie of the Month With Three Stellar Performances
The New Orleans Saints have not had a particularly good start to the season. Jameis Winston and his men are currently 1-2, three game weeks into the 2022 NFL season. They started off their season with an impressive 27-26 win over the Arizona Cardinals, but since then things have gone downhill with two back-to-back losses against the likes of Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Carolina Panthers. However, there are a few positives despite an awful start to the season, Chris Olave being chief among them.

In the 2022 NFL draft as pick number 11 in round one, the Saints chose Chris Olave, a wide receiver from Ohio State. In his final year as a college football player, Olave played 11 games, with 936 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns. He then opted against taking part in the 2021 Rose Bowl in order to prepare for the 2022 NFL draft, which went extremely well for him.

Chris Olave signed a four-year, $19.3 million contract with the New Orleans Saints. That’s an average annual salary of $4.8 million. And thus far he has proved that he is worth every penny the Saints are paying for him.
Chris Olave starts off his NFL career with a bang
Things could not have gone any better for Olave the first month into his NFL career. The rookie wide receiver was named the offensive rookie of the month for September. Olave has 17 catches for 268 yards in his first three NFL games. He has quickly established himself as WR number one despite the return of Michael Thomas. Olave is on pace to finish this season with 1,518 receiving yards, which would be a new NFL rookie record.

As far as the New Orleans Saints are concerned, they face the Minnesota Vikings this weekend. The game will take place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as the NFL tries to increase its fan base outside the United States of America. It will be interesting to see if the Saints can secure a win and make it a 2-2 start to their season or if they will lose their third straight game this season.
