Fantasy NBA: DFS Lineups for Friday, January 07

Friday is a special day for NBA Fantasy. With nine games for today’s slate, there are a lot of opportunities to build the perfect DFS Lineup and get yourself some money through fantasy.

Over the nine games available on today’s slate, we’ll have superstars like LeBron James and Joel Embiid, plus a mouth-watering contest between the Brooklyn Nets and the Milwaukee Bucks where lots of All-Stars will be in the game. As a reminder, you can always check our DFS Fantasy lineup optimizer to maximize your chances of winning.

Reminder: this is not a complete lineup, we’re giving you suggestions of players you can’t miss, but the fantasy strategy is up to you. It’d be easy just to list superstars here, but the goal is to maximize your chances, so some players will be sleepers or value picks as well – in fact, most of our picks today are about value.

No more talking. Let’s dive right into our suggestions for your NBA Fantasy lineup for both DraftKings and FanDuel.

Guards:

Jordan Clarkson (UTA): Clarkson figures to be a major upside play tonight as Utah will be missing a lot of important players with health and safety protocols. We believe his usage will be massive today, projecting he’ll surpass the 20-point mark, a feature he did over three of his last six games.

The Jazz will be facing a Raptors team that is good but a little bit inconsistent this year, and even with so many absences, Utah will easily avoid a blowout. Clarkson needs to be in your lineup no matter what – his salary in DraftKings and FanDuel is too low for a player that should get over 32 minutes.

DK: $5,500 / FD: $5,200

Jalen Brunson (DAL): Clarkson is a value play because the Jazz will be missing most of its starters. The same thing can apply to Brunson, because it’s unclear whether Luka Doncic will suit up for the Mavericks against the Houston Rockets as the superstar nurses an ankle injury – Kristaps Porzingis is already out because of COVID-19, so there’s the possibility of the guard becoming the main offensive option.

If Doncic is indeed out, Brunson’s usage will get a major boost for Friday’s game in what’s already his best career year. He has played over 33 minutes for four of the last five games and figures as an interesting option to take off versus a weak team. We’re expecting him to have a great night, and while the value is better at FanDuel than in DraftKings, it’s playable on both platforms.

DK: $7,000 / FD: $5,300

Forwards:

Rudy Gay (UTA): Are you willing to put your hard-earned money in Rudy Gay in 2022? Because we are. We figure his usage will grow just like Clarkson’s because of all the absences Utah will have, even if he hasn’t started a single game this season.

Last time out, against Denver, Gay put up a fantastic scoreline, with 18 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 2 blocks while playing for nearly 30 minutes. He should have the same minutage today – if not more. Yes, it’s 2022, but give Rudy a shot for under $5k in both fantasy platforms.

DK: $4,000 / FD: $4,800

Giannis Antetokounmpo (MIL): Yeah, like Giannis needs any introduction. He was out Wednesday against the Raptors, but he should be fine to play today.

The Bucks will be without some important players against the Nets due to injury, which will only see Antetokounmpo’s usage grow even higher and the possibility of a triple-double is real. He has a hefty salary, sure, but he’s the main superstar today. Don’t keep him out.

DK: $11,400 / FD: $11,700

Center:

Nikola Vucevic (CHI): Vucevic is not in his greatest form currently, but when he faced the Wizards a week ago, he put up a respectable 22/12/1 scoreline. Guess who the Bulls will be facing on Friday? Exactly.

Washington is definitely not good against centers, whether that’s on real-life or fantasy basketball. At only $8,7k on FanDuel in a favorable matchup, I’d trust Vucevic all the time – and the matchup also makes him playable at DraftKings. Go ahead and give him a vote of confidence.

DK: $9,100 / FD: $8,700
