Jamaal Jarrett of the Georgia Bulldogs has drawn criticism when it was claimed that a video of him made a derogatory comment about an Asian guy who announced the Atlanta Falcons’ first-round choice in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Fans Slam Georgia Player Jamaal Jarrett For Racist Comments

Jamaal Jarrett, a four-star defensive lineman prospect who committed to play for the Bulldogs the following season, was live-streaming the draft on his Instagram when the Falcons’ eighth-round selection was announced.

A seven-second video of Jarrett feigning to speak Chinese was posted on Reddit’s official college football Twitter account.

While Shane of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America Kansas City was about to announce the eighth overall pick, the defensive tackle made the move.

Jarrett thought that former Bulldogs defensive player Jalen Carter would join the Georgia-based pro football team, the Atlanta Falcons, who held the selection. Instead, Texas running back Bijan Robinson was chosen by the Falcons. Football fans, however, had negative things to say about Kirby Smart, Jamaal Jarrett, and the Georgia football team.

“Jalen Carter, come on Asian. Ching chong,” the speaker, apparently Jarrett, is heard saying.

A seven-second video of Jarrett feigning to speak Chinese was posted on Reddit’s official college football Twitter account.

In his senior year, Jarrett, a graduate of Greensboro, North Carolina’s Grimsley High School, was chosen to play in the All-American Bowl.

In the Class of 2023, Jarrett was rated as the 172nd best prospect nationwide and the 23rd best defensive lineman prospect.

In his senior season last year, he had 63 total tackles, including 18 tackles for loss, three quarterback hurries, an interception, and one sack.

After recruit Jamaal Jarrett made a racial remark on Thursday during a live stream of the 2023 NFL Draft, Georgia football “culture” has come under fire from fans on Twitter.

“Suspend him and public apology needed,” one Twitter user wrote.

“Are you surprised? That’s the culture at Georgia,” one user wrote.

“This is literally the culture they impose at Georgia,” wrote another.

“No one has really called this out but us. Anti Asian racism does not move the needles. Sad.”
