Fan Sits With “Load Management” Banner At Lakers-Nets Game As LeBron James & Anthony Davis Miss The Game
During their 121-104 loss to the Brooklyn Nets, the LA Lakers rested LeBron James and Anthony Davis on the front end of a back-to-back. NBA fans who purchased tickets months in advance in anticipation of seeing the superstars play were incensed by their absence.
The NBA should abbreviate the season, according to a sign left in the crowd by one of the spectators, because of the increased load management required by the busy schedule.

On the second night of the back-to-back, the Lakers will take on the New York Knicks, another postseason candidate. Depending on their chances of winning, every team in the league keeps its best players. Furthermore, load management does not always get in the way.
Load management while being relatively healthy is an absolute disgrace to professional sports.

One fan in attendance at Barclays Center Monday night for the Brooklyn Nets versus Los Angeles Lakers game left a sign calling out the Lakers’ load management plan after stars LeBron James and Anthony Davis sat the game out.
“Load [Managament] equals Rip Off,” the sign read, adding “Shorten the Season!”
Both LeBron James and Anthony Davis have been playing through ailments this season. The LA Lakers coach said that because of the former’s left foot, which is extremely uncomfortable, playing back-to-back games was not a possibility.

Davis, however, just made a full recovery from a foot ailment that kept him out for five and a half weeks. Upon his return, he participated in two games with limited playing time off the bench but wasn’t yet given the go-ahead to play in back-to-back contests.
Load management is a topic that divides the NBA community. Their willingness to play every game is called into question by the stars’ absence in some contests. But a lot of things can account for a player’s absence.

The clubs and medical personnel are planning the players’ absences to maximise their health throughout the season, not necessarily because the players are choosing to take time off.
