F1 Cars Launch 2023: All Set To Enter The New Formula 1 Season

Before to testing, which starts in Bahrain on February 23, all eleven F1 teams have already partially introduced their 2023 vehicles.

Alfa Romeo and Aston Martin were the first to unveil their 2023 Formula One cars, followed closely by Ferrari, Mercedes, and Alpine. However, we won’t know if any of the teams are holding anything back until testing or even the first race. Updated liveries for Haas, Red Bull, Williams, McLaren, and AlphaTauri have already been seen on show cars, while Alfa Romeo, Red Bull, and Williams have already had their updated liveries revealed.

While Red Bull dominated the F1 season of 2022, resulting in Max Verstappen’s second consecutive world championship, 2023 may be a much tighter race as Ferrari and Mercedes attempt to keep up their pursuit following a closely fought battle for second place.

The question still remains: will anybody be able to catch the galloping Red Bulls and their high-flying Dutchman? Fresh driver lineups, significant off-track modifications, and minor technical improvements all have the ability to upend the running order.

Ferrari 2023 F1 car

Release date: February 14

In the off-season, there has already been a significant change at Ferrari, with Fred Vasseur, the former team principal of Alfa Romeo, taking over for Mattia Binotto in 2023.

The Scuderia had a generally disappointing 2022 season as a result of a long range of expensive strategic racing missteps.

Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc will continue to be Ferrari’s drivers in 2023, and they are both looking forward to some improved race weekends. On Valentine’s Day, the brand-new vehicle will be presented.

With departing team principal Binotto saying that reliability and speed will “compensate for any other faults,” Ferrari’s major focus during the off-season is being placed into their 2023 car’s dependability and performance.

The renowned Italian builders unveiled their new  livery on Valentine’s Day to their waiting fanbase. Arguably the most iconic car on the grid, their new look largely mirrors last season’s car though they’ll be hoping for more success with this one!

Aston Martin 2023 F1 car

Release date: February 13

With Fernando Alonso joining the club for the 2023 season, everything at Aston Martin is changing. The former world champion offers a wealth of ability and expertise.

Alonso will be eager to maintain his success from last season, when he finished in P9 with his previous club Alpine, when he teams with Canadian Lance Stroll.

His new employers were the first group to reveal the date and time of their Silverstone base’s new vehicle introduction on February 13 (14:00 ET/19:00 GMT), which will mark the start of the 2023 season.

Lawrence Stroll, the team’s owner, will be hopeful that their new vehicle, the AMR23, can improve on last season’s dismal performance. In the summer of 2023, the team is also scheduled to relocate to a new headquarters that will combine functional new factory and campus, which is set to cost around £200 million ($241 million).

Like most teams on the grid this off-season, not too much has changed with Aston Martin’s livery for the 2023 season.

Alpine 2023 F1 car

Release date: February 16 (Time TBC)

With their new vehicle “much up” in terms of development compared to last season, French team Alpine hopes to further their championship ambitions in 2023, according to sports director Alan Permane.

Speaking about the upcoming 2023 F1 season, he added “it’s very good, it’s very exciting”, though they’ll have to work on their reliability issues too given their mixed race finishes in 2022.

In 2023, Esteban Ocon will share the driving seat with Pierre Gasly while Fernando Alonso transitions to Aston Martin during the off-season.

Early in January, Alpine declared that the A532, their F1 vehicle for 2023, will debut on February 16.

Red Bull 2023 F1 car

Release date: February 3

Red Bull’s 2022 season couldn’t have gone much better as they won both the constructor’s and drivers’ titles.

Back-to-back world champion Max Verstappen was able to set record after record thanks to their RB18 vehicle, which turned out to be one of the most dominant in recent memory.

As a result, when it comes to creating cars for the 2023 season, other teams on the grid may take their lead from Red Bull.

For the Austrian team, it’ll be more of the same this off-season, with Chief Technical Officer Adrian Newey telling reporters: “We will continue to develop our concept because we know it best but I don’t dare say whether our way is the best way. It’s quite possible that someone else will turn the corner with a better idea.”

On February 3, in New York, the Austrian team debuted their brand-new vehicle livery for the 2023 season.

The new RB 19 uses blue as a foundation colour before putting yellow and red on top to create a design that is extremely similar to that of the vehicle from the previous year. They will be hoping that little will change on the racetrack as Verstappen pursues a third consecutive world championship.

Alfa Romeo 2023 F1 car

Release date: February 7

Alfa Romeo’s forthcoming vehicle for the 2023 season is unknown, although it is known that the team will continue to use the driver combination of Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu.

According to rumours, their 2023 car will likewise have the same chassis as their car from the previous year, which was one of the lightest on the grid. Given that the automobile will require significant investment in other areas to be competitive in 2023, that is considered as a reasonable choice.

Alfa Romeo’s participation in the sport will come to an end after this season, at the very least. They said in a succinct statement that their connection with Sauber Motorsport will terminate by the end of 2023.

“Alfa Romeo announced its return in F1 in 2017 with a long-term plan, and in July 2022 has announced the decision to continue its partnership with Sauber also for 2023, given to the promising results of the first half of the season, both in terms of performances, marketing and positive collaboration with the team.

“Since the economic and industrial turnaround of the brand will be achieved in 2022, Alfa Romeo will now evaluate among the many opportunities on the table, and decide which will be the best one to sustain the long-term strategy and the positioning of the brand.”

AlphaTauri 2023 F1 car

Release date: February 11

When Pierre Gasly leaves the Faenza team in 2023, Yuki Tsunoda will be partnered with Nyck de Vries for AlphaTauri.

The departing French driver talked about his old team, but he didn’t reveal much about their AT04 vehicle other than to say that his former teammates are certain it will be their greatest creation to date.

Red Bull’s apprentice team will currently debut their vehicle first on February 11.

Williams 2023 F1 car

Release date: February 6

All eyes will be on Williams’ rookie Logan Sargeant in 2023 as he attempts to improve upon his outstanding showing in F2 during the 2022 season.

Alex Albon, who competed well in races last year despite driving the least powerful vehicle on the grid, will be his teammate.

There hasn’t been much information released about Williams’ new vehicle, but it is believed that the significant improvement package they unveiled at the British Grand Prix in 2022 will serve as the foundation for the design of the car in 2023.

On February 6, the British team presented their new livery during a celebration organised by F1 commentator Will Buxton.

Haas 2023 F1 car

Release date: January 31

In late January, American F1 team Haas was the first on the grid to post the livery for their 2023 vehicle online.

This year’s design is dominated by black, which is a significant contrast from last season when they ran with a vehicle that was mostly white. The red accents from previous season are still present.

In the driver’s seat, Haas will welcome Nico Hulkenberg back to Formula One in 2023, pairing the German with Kevin Magnussen despite the pair’s history of fights.

Guenther Steiner, team principal, is apprehensive about pairing the two even though the US team is reportedly still having trouble with vehicle development concerns that significantly hindered them in 2022.

In better news, the FIA has recently certified Haas’ chassis and front nose of their new VF-23 car, confirming its homologation and legality ahead of next year, which should serve as a timely boost.

Mercedes 2023 F1 car

Release date: February 15 (Time TBC)

Mercedes’ 2022 season turned out to be an odd one.

Although the German manufacturers appeared to be quite competitive with the top two teams, Red Bull and Ferrari, it began with a lack of pace and straight-line performance.

In order to win back the constructors’ championship in 2023, team manager Toto Wolff will be hoping that his squad can further narrow that deficit over the off-season.

Its chassis will be upgraded as a top priority because it had several issues in the previous season, which was the first in Lewis Hamilton’s long career that he failed to win a race.

Wolff told reporters towards the end of last season: “The DNA of the car is going to change for next year, that’s clear. It doesn’t necessarily mean that our bodywork is going to look very different but certainly what is part of the DNA of the car, the architecture of the car, will change for next year.”

What is different in the German team’s livery for 2023 as the famous constructors have returned to a full black livery for 2023.

McLaren 2023 F1 car

Release date: February 13

According to early reports, McLaren may have another challenging season in 2023.

There are worries that the British team are behind schedule with the construction of its 2023 vehicle, despite winning the race to recruit teenage sensation Oscar Piastri, who will drive with Lando Norris in the 2019 season.

The team’s technical director, James Key, explained: “In 2019, Andreas Seidl and I arrived and we said immediately that we’ve got some infrastructure to put in here, because we’re out of date. We had an expansion plan for some of the key areas, and then the pandemic hit the world and all of that came to a stop, so we haven’t reaped the rewards of any of those infrastructure investments yet. They’re still happening, they’re 18 months behind, and the expansion plan had to stop.”
