Erica Herman, ex-girlfriend of Tiger Woods accused him of sexual harassment after breaking up with him. She is now taking the case to the court

American golfer Tiger Woods competes professionally. He ranks second in men’s major championships, is tied for the lead in PGA Tour victories, and owns a number of golfing records. One of the most well-known athletes in contemporary history, Woods is recognized as one of the all-time greats of golf. He was honored with a World Golf Hall of Fame induction.

At the age of 20, in August 1996, Woods made his professional debut. He quickly won endorsement deals with Titleist and Nike, Inc., which at the time were the most lucrative in golf history. Woods received the Sportsman of the Year and Rookie of the Year awards from Sports Illustrated in 1996.

Following his victory at the 2019 Masters Tournament, Woods was presented with the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Donald Trump in May 2019.

When they watched Serena Williams play at the 19 U.S. Open that same year, the couple made a rare public appearance.

In March 2022, Herman rejoiced as Woods was admitted into the World Golf Hall of Fame.

Woods worried that he would never play competitive golf again after his injury, but in April 2022, he made a comeback at the Masters with Herman watching from the stands.

In 2023, Herman’s court documents, which were obtained by TMZ in March, disclosed their separation.

Herman used the Speak Out Act, which, according to Congress, “prohibits the judicial enforceability of a nondisclosure clause or nondisparagement clause agreed to before a dispute arises involving sexual assault or sexual harassment in violation of federal, tribal, or state law,” in an effort to invalidate her NDA.

Herman filed more paperwork two months later, alleging that Woods had harassed her in a sexual manner not long after she started working at his restaurant in 2014. In 2017, according to her attorneys, Woods “forced her to sign an NDA” or risk “be fired from her job.” Despite the fact that Herman and Woods were already dating at the time, the attorneys emphasized in the brief that “a boss imposing different work conditions on his employee because of their sexual relationship is sexual harassment.”

Herman went on to say that Woods allegedly forced her out of their house in 2022 after sexually harassing her once more.. “The landlord made the availability of her housing conditional on her having a sexual relationship with a co-tenant,” Herman’s attorneys stated in the court document. “That conduct amounts to sexual harassment under federal and Florida fair housing laws.”

Herman filed a lawsuit against Woods and his trust in 2022 after the couple split up over alleged sexual harassment.

She appealed this past Friday to Florida’s Fourth District Court of Appeal after her case was previously dismissed in Florida courts.

She wants to get rid of a specific non-disclosure agreement that she signed in 2017, according to USA Today.

She wants her court case to be heard in public, but Florida judges have so far sided with Woods and maintained that any case should be handled through private arbitration.

The outcome of the appeal submitted this week is still uncertain.
