Emmanuel Acho Believes Tyreek Hill May Surpass Randy Moss’ Records

Tyreek Hill has made a name for himself as one of the most productive wide receivers in the NFL since his debut in 2016. He has broken team records for receiving yards and catches with the Kansas City Chiefs and the Miami Dolphins, and he has won a Super Bowl. He has also been selected to the Pro Bowl each season of his career.

Emmanuel Acho Believes Tyreek Hill May Surpass Randy Moss’ Records

A record held by Hall of Famer Randy Moss may be broken by Hill in 2023, claims Emmanuel Acho. Think about what Tyreek Hill offered you last year, Acho said on his program “SPEAK.” He may smash the single-season receiving mark this year, in my opinion.

In 2020, when he had 15 TD catches, “Cheetah” got the closest to breaking the record. He has also caught more than one touchdown in 14 games (13 regular-season, 1 postseason), the most of them in 2018.

“Think about what Tyreek Hill gave you last year at the wide receiver position. I believe it was over 1700 yards, many people thought he might break the single-season receiving record. I believe he could do so this season.”

In reality, Randy Moss does not hold the record for the most receiving yards in a single season. Calvin Johnson, a fellow member of the Hall of Fame, who had 1,964 yards in 2012, is the owner. According to Acho, Tyreek Hill can beat that mark in 2023.

Moss does, however, possess two records that Hill can surpass in 2023:

23 touchdown catches is the most in a season. The 2007 season saw the most games with at least two touchdown catches (8).

Tyreek Hill believes that his 1,710 receiving yards in 2022, his first season as a Dolphin, which was a personal best, pale in comparison to a 2,000-yard season, which has never happened in the history of the league.

Speaking to media last week during the last required minicamp session, he said: “Oh yeah, for sure. I think the added game gives me quite the advantage, so yeah.”

And he thinks the conditions are favorable for him to do so:

“For me, not getting injured, coming in each and every day wanting to get better, wanting to be coached. And I feel like I’ve got the right tools around me. I’ve got obviously the most accurate quarterback in the NFL; I’ve got one of the best head coaches in the NFL and also my position coach is a monster, also.”

“So just having those three things and me just keeping the same mindset each and every day that I want to get better and I want to break the record, and I do want to break the record. So I feel like this is one of those years that I can achieve it.”
