Eagles’ Are Annoyed Of Their Fans Being Too Loud At The Stadium

The noise level at Lincoln Financial Field is among the highest among professional sports venues due to the fervent and boisterous nature of Philadelphia Eagles supporters.

Eagles’ Are Annoyed Of Their Fans Being Too Loud At The Stadium

Although the environment benefits the Eagles more than it does harm, several players on the home team seem to be becoming irritated by the clamor.

The Linc’s crowd doesn’t exactly let a play go unnoticed because they cheer for the Eagles both on offense and defense.

Several Eagles offensive players have reportedly complained that their home stadium’s loudness has interfered with their ability to communicate with one another on the field, according to Marcus Hayes of the Philadelphia Inquirer.

“Several Eagles offensive players have made insinuations over the last month regarding the impact of Lincoln Financial Field crowd noise on the effectiveness of the offense. They’re going public right now, according to Hayes.

The quarterback Jalen Hurts’ cadence, audibles, and even play calls during huddles have been difficult for the teammates to hear.

The fact that 15 of Philadelphia’s false start penalties this season have occurred at home may be due to the crowd noise, which has begun to interfere with cadence and rhythm while the Birds are in possession of the ball.

“It kind of gets loud for the offense,” Jalen Hurts told the media after the team’s win over the Giants On Christmas. “It’s supposed to get loud for the defense.”

Jordan Mailata, an offensive lineman, went one step beyond.

“I would love to hear the cadence,” Mailata said while admitting that the Eagles have had to use silent counts at home on occasion. “People don’t understand the gravity of playing at home. Because we can go on our cadence. Maybe draw them offside.”

After the Eagles’ overtime victory over the Buffalo Bills, center Jason Kelce said, “It would be nice if you could hear yourself think out there,” in reflection on the circumstances.

Left tackle Jordan Mailata also shared his perspective, stating, “One hundred percent. I would love to hear the cadence. People don’t understand the gravity of playing at home. Because we can go on our cadence. Maybe draw them offside.”

The Eagles are poised to win the NFC East, which would guarantee at least one more home postseason game, as they get ready for their season-ending matchup against the Arizona Cardinals.
