Draymond Green Slams Knicks Fans & Calls Them Delusional

During a recent interview with Trae Young, Draymond Green caused a stir, and the Hawks player also attracted much attention for his many insightful observations on the NBA.

At the Uninterrupted Film Festival, the two had a conversation about an episode of The Draymond Green Show. One noteworthy topic was Young’s reputation as an NBA “villain,” particularly among Knicks supporters.

While meeting with Young at the Uninterrupted Film Festival, the divisive and outspoken Warriors forward chastised the Knicks’ supporters for their treatment of the Hawks star during their 2021 postseason first-round defeat.

“New York Knicks fans are f–king delusional and miserable,” Green said. “They’re a hard fan base.

“Trae, you go into the Garden, hitting the shots, bowing, you are very much a showman, yet that’s been flipped into being a villain. I’ll be the first to say it: being a villain (stinks), it’s no fun.”

Young shone in the playoff series, which was the Knicks’ first playoffs trip since 2013, leading the Hawks to a five-game victory against the Knicks while averaging 29.2 points and 9.8 assists.

Young, who is well-known for his antics and flair, infuriated the boisterous Madison Square Garden audience throughout the series as the squad ended its postseason drought.

The arena was continually filled with “F-k Trae Young” shouts, which Young either responded to with shushing gestures or the contrary, encouraging them to continue.

Young added in response to what Green had said on the subject that he doesn’t “dive into that” very much instead he “feeds off the crowd.” The 24-year-old guard mentioned how the crowd began yelling “F— Trae Young” almost immediately during Game 1 of the series.

“I kind of feed off the crowd … Game 1, the whole arena was yelling “F Trae Young” like two minutes into the game … What do you want me to do? I’m just hooping. I ain’t said nothing to the crowd, I ain’t bowed, I ain’t say ‘It’s quiet as F in here,’ I ain’t say none of that yet. I just really played off of how they guarded me & how the fans reacted. I come out playing, trying to win, trying to put on a show, & the fans wanna get into it …” Young stated.
