Draymond Green Gets Kicked In The Groin: Is It The Karma Kicking In?

On the basketball court, Draymond Green is well-known for his energy, but occasionally it gets out of control since he has had violent altercations with other players. Though he occasionally gets the short end of the stick, the 33-year-old veteran is still quite effective in the paint.

With eight assists, three rebounds, and eight points on the floor on Sunday, Green had a respectable game for the Warriors in their 115-104 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers. But this time, his performance wasn’t the main attraction.

On Sunday, Draymond Green’s embarrassing moment went viral on NBA Twitter as fans made fun of the Warriors star for succumbing to an illegal technique he is all too familiar with.

Green’s tragic incident happened during the Warriors’ game against the Cavaliers in Cleveland. As the two players struggled for a rebound, Green got an inadvertent kick to the crotch from Cavaliers centre Jarrett Allen.

Green was performing as normal on Sunday during the Golden State Warriors game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. In the midst of a rebounding battle at 9:20 in the first quarter, Jarrett Allen of Cleveland accidentally struck the four-time NBA champion in the groin with his foot while in midair.

Green collapsed to the ground, writhing in agony, and spectators responded to his anguish. It all stems back to the moment when Green struck Steven Adams, an OKC Thunder player at the time, in a very identical manner.

After no foul was called in the play and in reference to past occasions in which he was the one delivering the kick, Green took to social media to comment to the play, writing that “The Draymond Green Rule is only a rule when Draymond Green is delivering… cool.”

In the past, Draymond has been caught making “cheap shots” and “dirty plays” that resembled the kick he took to the groin. He most famously kicked Steven Adams in Game 2 and 3 of the 2016 Western Conference Finals, for which he was called for a flagrant foul and fined $25,000.

Draymond Green had his best performance of the season on Friday night against the OKC Thunder, with 15 points, five rebounds, three assists, and one block.

In the offseason, Green inked a $100 million, four-year contract with the Warriors, tying him to the team until at least the 2026–2027 campaign. As the go-to forward in the locker room, a lot is expected of the seasoned big.
