As the world watches the catastrophe unfold, the fighting continues to rip apart families and livelihoods, leaving 5087 people dead, more than 2000 of them are children.

The 33-year-old defensive player of the year and four-time NBA champion is the most recent to voice their thoughts, and they feel bad for the innocent bystanders.

“It’s important because so many people are sitting quiet on it,” Green said to NBC Sports Bay Area. “A lot of people sit quiet because they don’t want to get into the politics of things.

“A lot of people sit quiet because they don’t want to get themselves in trouble, whatever ‘trouble’ means. Believe or not, a lot of people sit quiet because there’s not much compassion left in this country.

I’m a Black man. I know how it feels to get f*cked over. So, I sympathize with them.”

In addition, Draymond Green expressed his sincere sympathies to all those impacted by the situation, regardless of their nationality—Palestine or Israel.

“I just send my heart out to everybody involved, to Palestinians and Israelis,” Green said. “You’ve got people dying daily. So, I send my heart out to them.”

The militant Palestinian Islamist group Hamas struck the Israeli border in the Gaza Strip on October 7, sparking the latest confrontation. Israel launched a war on Hamas right after, and it is still going strong today, with over 6,000 dead.

Israel, primarily a Jewish state, considers its territory to be the “holy land” that God promised to them and gave to them via Moses. The Palestinians, who make up the majority of the population, also claim the area as their own for spiritually important reasons.
