Dolphins’ Tyreek Hill To Cover For The Lost Wages Of The Suspended Cameraman
Star wide receiver Tyreek Hill of the Miami Dolphins stole a cameraman’s phone to celebrate after scoring a touchdown in a Week 6 game against the Carolina Panthers. The New York Post reports that the NFL banned cinematographer Kevin Fitzgibbons on Wednesday for the rest of the 2023 season and “possibly for good” for enabling Hill to use his camera as a prop during the celebration.

Because Hill used the phone as a prop, his celebration went viral.
Fitzgibbons claimed in a video that was shared on social media, “The NFL then informed me that I was suspended for the remainder of the season and possibly for good.”

The league punished cameraman Kevin Fitzgibbons for the whole season and “possibly for good” for letting Hill use his camera for the dramatic effect.
Following the Dolphins’ Week 6 victory against the Panthers, the celebration went viral right away.
Hill was fined for using a prop during a celebration, but when questioned about it following the game, he put the responsibility elsewhere rather than on Fitzgibbons.

“It’s just one of those things that kind of happened,” Hill explained. “I saw the camera and I just took it from him, and he didn’t want me to take it from him. So, I just called my shot.”
Fitzgibbons’ video became viral, receiving over 100,000 likes on Instagram and over 4.5 million views on TikTok.
About the suspension, Hill was questioned on Thursday. He stated he was old friends with Fitzgibbons and would make up for any missed pay.

“Me and K-Fitz, we’ve got a long history together,” Hill stated. “The news is something that I already knew. I told him don’t let this get to you. Just hold your head up. You’re still quite young. Continue to do what you love. Me and him are going to continue to work together.
“I told him I was going to cover his salary, whatever the NFL was going to pay him or whatever. I told him I was going to make sure that I do what’s right and take care of you, make sure you’re not out of a job. That’s my guy.”
A league source confirmed Fitzgibbons’ suspension to ESPN, but clarified that he is still an NFL employee and is not barred from future events.
