Dolphins Tyreek Hill: Chiefs Won Because Referees Were Biased, Also Hints At Taylor Swift’s Influence

Tyreek Hill, the Miami Dolphins’ standout wide receiver, took a jab at his old team, the Kansas City Chiefs, and made a serious claim against them.

He stated that the officials “saved” them in their Week 4 23-20 triumph against the struggling New York Jets, and that they also received assistance from the authorities in last season’s Super Bowl.

A contentious officiating decision near the conclusion of the game allowed the Chiefs to run out the clock and capture the victory.

He also claimed that Taylor Swift’s presence in the stadium may have affected the decision in the Jets game, considering her big fan base.

Hill referred to a similar mistake in last year’s Super Bowl, which was heavily panned yet allowed the Chiefs to win over the Philadelphia Eagles.

“The Chiefs got saved like that last year for real though, against the Eagles in the Super Bowl if we being for real. Then they come back and get saved in the Jets game. Maybe because Taylor Swift was in the building. I don’t know what’s going on.. hey! whatever Kelce is doing, I know you’re helping out the NFL”, Hill said.

Hill was alluding to a controversial holding penalty against Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner in last week’s game, which nullified Michael Carter II’s interception of a Patrick Mahomes pass. Instead of giving up possession of the ball on the late-game penalty, Kansas City held on and was able to chew up the points.

While Hill’s argument may have some weight, it’s also likely that such choices are simply part of football, and the Chiefs are simply taking full advantage of them. Jason Kelce, who played for the Eagles in last year’s Super Bowl, agreed that officials should not get involved in borderline calls.

Hill was dealt from Kansas City to the Dolphins prior to last season, and he has helped turn the organization around. He had a career-high 1,710 receiving yards last season and is now fourth in the NFL with 470 yards and tied for second with four receiving touchdowns.

The Dolphins are 3-1, and despite having struggled defensively at times, they might be the best overall team in the AFC right now.
