The Dolphins (3-0) broke the team marks for most yards in a game (595) and points in a game (56). Furthermore, Miami’s victory nearly surpassed the NFL record for most points in a game (72).
Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel agreed with his quarterback, saying aiming for 73 “felt like chasing points.”

According to NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe, McDaniel stated, “…chasing a record is not what we came here to do.” You yield and kneel ten times out of ten.
The 2022 Pro Bowler completed 23-of-26 passes for 309 yards, four touchdowns, zero interceptions, zero sacks, and a 155.8 passer rating. Tagovailoa also helped Miami become only the fourth team in NFL history to score at least 70 points in a postseason or regular season game.

The Dolphins became the first team since Washington in 1966 to reach the 70-point mark with seven offensive touchdowns. In fact, the Washington squad still holds the record for most points scored in a game with 72.
Tua Tagovailoa, however, appeared to have a complete misunderstanding of the circumstances after the game, claiming that the Dolphins elected not to score another field goal to establish the NFL points record because “we’re not trying to humiliate teams.”

While Tua’s comments are ludicrous, given that dropping 70 points on a team is a shame and humiliation in and of itself, the Dolphins were in an intriguing position on Sunday.
Tua threw 23 of 26 passes for 309 yards and four touchdowns against Sean Payton’s hapless Broncos. Despite only trying two attempts, backup Mike White threw a touchdown pass.

Tua and the Dolphins will face their toughest test of the 2023 season when they travel to Buffalo to face Josh Allen and the Bills in a matchup that might determine who wins the AFC East this year.
