Dodgers Mookie Betts Moves To Airbnb Just To Avoid Haunted Hotel
Professional baseball players are often superstitious, but Mookie Betts went above and above by refusing to stir up any trouble as the Dodgers left on their road trip to Milwaukee this week.
Dodgers Mookie Betts Moves To Airbnb Just To Avoid Haunted Hotel
“I don’t know if they’re real or not, nor do I care,” Betts said of the ghosts after the Dodgers’ 6-2 win over the Brewers on Tuesday night. “My boys are here, so we just got an Airbnb. Really, that’s it.
Betts isn’t having it when the Dodgers choose to stay in the venerable Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee’s city centre as the team hotel.
The Pfister, which was constructed in 1893, has long served as a sort of local hangout for MLB teams in town to play the Brewers.

MLB players have a lengthy history of encountering the supernatural at the Pfister. The most notable player was Adrian Beltre, who was a Los Angeles player in 2001. The former Dodger third baseman claimed that when he was there, he witnessed so many eerie happenings that he slept with his bat next to him in bed. This included banging on the wall above his headboard, but Beltre wasn’t close to any room, and hearing footsteps in the hallway but finding no one outside when he opened the door.

Betts had previously stayed at the Pfister and, according to Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register, has not encountered any spirits during that time.
“But I couldn’t sleep,” Betts said. “Every noise, I’d be like, ‘Is that something?’”

According to Plunkett, Betts claimed that having friends travel to Milwaukee at the same time “was a good excuse” to skip the Pfister this time.
“You can tell me what happened after,” Betts said. “I just don’t want to find out myself.”

Similar supernatural occurrences were reported by Carlos Gomez and the Twins in 2008. He said that while he was sleeping, his iPod started turning on and off by itself and vibrating so intensely that it dropped to the ground.
