Disturbing Details Of Wander Franco’s Case Have Released
Wander Franco, a great player for the Tampa Bay Rays, is presently facing potentially career-ending legal issues when it was revealed he had a connection with an underage Dominican girl. It was also revealed in the court filings that the mother of the kid attempted to buy off Franco to conceal this relationship.
Disturbing Details Of Wander Franco’s Case Have Released
As early as last year, the Tampa Bay Rays shortstop was accused of having sexual contact with a juvenile. In August 2023, after learning of the unsettling circumstances surrounding its star, Tampa Bay put him on indefinite administrative leave.
Following that, an inquiry was conducted to determine the precise nature of the relationship between him and this girl. Despite just being 22 years old, he might never play another MLB game and could spend up to 20 years in jail for “commercial sexual exploitation and money laundering.”
New with @JuanRecioM: ESPN obtained a nearly 600-page document outlining the prosecution’s case against Tampa Bay Rays shortstop Wander Franco, who they accuse of having a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old girl. Details free at ESPN: https://t.co/Ax1BfwEP9x

Given that the girl is 14 years old, Franco may spend up to 20 years behind bars. Court records detailing text exchanges between Franco and the girl that are very damaging for the slugger were made public, according to an ESPN story. He essentially says that it doesn’t matter if the girl is a juvenile.
Franco’s messages are in Spanish but the translation goes along these lines: “My girl. If my team realises this, it could cause problems for me. It is a rule for all teams that we cannot talk to minors, and yet I took the risk and I loved it. There was more to it but you’re just a girl and you don’t know how to get along with me, that’s why you failed, but I’ll give you only one chance, you must be only for me. Don’t look at anyone, I know you’ve been with someone else, but no one will know how to use you the way I want.” This revelation is one of the reasons Francos was arrested on New Year’s Day for not showing up in court to answer questions in the Dominican Republic.

That would be enough to make any person gag out of disgust. However, her mother was also involved in the girl’s manipulation; Franco wasn’t the only one.
The mother began requesting 100,000 pesos, or $1,700, a month from Franco once she learned about their connection.
As the connection developed, the mother’s expectations persisted. During a raid on the mother’s home in September, police discovered a 2023 Suzuki Swift in the driveway along with $82,200 in total.
The Wander Franco story will go down as one of the saddest and weirdest in Baseball history.

The youngster subsequently revealed to a psychotherapist how much she hated her alcoholic mother, who mistreats her when she is intoxicated. After a complaint was made against Franco in July 2023, she left the home and said the mother “see[s] me as an item to make money”
Regardless of Wander Franco’s legal outcome, the Tampa Bay Rays are unlikely to extend a call to him in the midst of this mess. Franco is charged with money laundering and commercial sexual exploitation after it was claimed by the prosecution that he paid the girl’s mother to conceal their connection.

Wander Franco was freed from jail on January 8th, having paid the $35,000 demanded by the judge as a deposit. Six days after Franco was put on a restricted list due to this problem, the MLB placed him on administrative leave. The league is now looking into this on their own as well.

Is Wander Franco a citizen of the United States?
A person with knowledge of Franco’s legal processes claims that he is in possession of a five-year P-1A Athlete visa, which enables him to travel from his home Dominican Republic to compete as a professional athlete in the United States. However, according to Khazaeli, the government sees a visa as a “extraordinary benefit.”
