Diamondbacks’ Rookie Brandon Pfaadt Going Viral For Reading Bible Right Before NLCS Game 7
Brandon Pfaadt took comfort in his religion before taking the mound for the biggest game of his career. Anxious as anybody would be, the Arizona Diamondbacks rookie pitcher was scheduled to start Game 7 of the National League Championship Series.

Before the game started, Pfaadt took solace in his religion and read the Bible in the dugout to calm his pounding heart.
The 25-year-old went to the all-boys Catholic Trinity High School, which is a part of the Louisville Roman Catholic Archdiocese. Later, he attended Bellarmine University, a private Catholic university in Louisville, as a baseball player.

In the fifth round of the 2020 MLB Draft, the D-Backs selected him, and on May 3, he made his debut.
Pfaadt has outperformed expectations in the postseason despite a 5.72 ERA during the regular season. In just 2.2 innings, he gave up three earned runs in a poor start against the Milwaukee Brewers in the Wild Card Series.

He would, however, immediately turn things around in his next two outings, giving up no runs in 10.0 innings against the Philadelphia Phillies and the Los Angeles Dodgers. In his three playoff outings, Pfaadt has established himself as a crucial member of the Diamondbacks pitching staff, with an outstanding 2.13 ERA.

Despite having a pitiful 5.72 ERA throughout the regular season, he has surprised everyone by performing admirably in the postseason. In just 2.2 innings of work during the Wild Card Series against the Milwaukee Brewers, he gave up three earned runs. However, in his two subsequent outings (against the Los Angeles Dodgers and Philadelphia Phillies), he has given up no runs in 10.0 innings. He has three outings under his belt and an ERA of 2.13 going into Game 7.
The D-Backs took two games in a row at Chase Field after the Phillies won the opening two games of the series at their home field. Game 5 went to Philadelphia, but Arizona avoided elimination in Game 6 to set up Tuesday night’s win-or-go-home match.
This is awesome 💯👏

Arizona ultimately prevailed 4-2, thanks in large part to a strong outing by Pfaadt, who threw four innings, giving up four hits and two runs allowed for a 1.86 ERA.
For the first time since 2001, when they defeated the New York Yankees in seven games in their inaugural Fall Classic, the Diamondbacks defeated the Phillies 4-2 and advanced to the World Series.
