Dez Bryant Thinks Cowboys Isn’t Playing Fair With Trevon Diggs’s Contract Extension
Stefon Diggs and his predicament in Buffalo have received a lot of attention, but it appears that his younger brother, cornerback Trevon Diggs of the Dallas Cowboys, may also grow dissatisfied with his own club.
Dez Bryant Thinks Cowboys Isn’t Playing Fair With Trevon Diggs’s Contract Extension
Early in June, Diggs and the Cowboys started discussing an extension. But since then, things have been mostly calm. That is, until Dez Bryant, a former Cowboys receiver, decided to weigh in.

Bryant has been quite vocal about issues with the NFL, especially his adored former club, since retiring from football a few years ago. It turns out that Bryant and Diggs spoke throughout the corner’s contract negotiations, and he disclosed where they currently stand. Bryant made a noteworthy and insightful remark on the Cowboys’ approach to the contract negotiations.

Dez Bryant, a former wide receiver, discussed Diggs’ upcoming contract predicament on his Personal Corner conversation on Wednesday (audio clip provided by 105.3 The Fan). In one passage, he criticized the front staff for failing to speak with the two-time Pro Bowler, particularly as he approaches the last year of his rookie contract:
“He is not trying to knock them across the head… I will say they (are) not trying to be fair to him.

“’Diggs you’ve done something that a lot of cornerbacks have not done in their first three years in the NFL,’” Bryant said, “I told him, ‘You don’t compromise that.’”
“I feel like what he’s asking for, he’s rightfully deserving of that contract. I believe it should all be guaranteed, that’s my opinion. I’m not going to get into full details of our conversation.”

In just his first three seasons, Diggs has already established himself as a standout in the Cowboys’ secondary. The Alabama graduate has a first-team All-Pro mention, two Pro Bowl choices, 49 passes intercepted, 17 interceptions, including a league-high 11 in 2021. His propensity to give up some huge plays is one area where he still has to improve, but overall, he has been quite outstanding thus far.
