Sunday’s NFL Week 2 matchup between the Washington Commanders and Detroit Lions is scheduled. Week 1 saw the Commanders upset the visiting Jacksonville Jaguars 28-22 behind Washington debut for quarterback Carson Wentz. He led the Commanders back from an 8-point deficit in the fourth quarter by throwing 4 touchdown passes and finishing with 313 yards for the victory.
The Philadelphia Eagles had an early 31-14 lead over the Detroit Lions, who then fought back but lost 38-35. The Eagles amassed 455 total yards of offence, including 216 rushing yards, and the Detroit defence had a difficult time stopping them.
With 3:51 left, quarterback Jared Goff completed his second touchdown throw of the contest to bring the Lions within three points, but the Eagles ran out the clock.

Washington is thought to be in a strong position to contend right now. However, Detroit proved they could keep up with a more resilient Philadelphia squad.

Against the Jaguars in Week 1, the Commanders struggled to stop the run, which will be a problem against Detroit in Week 2. While the Lions averaged 6.5 yards per rush against the Eagles in their season opener, Washington allowed 6.8 yards per carrying against Jacksonville.
