Despite Public Outrage Over Team Selections, Steelers Head Coach Mike Tomlin Is Not Considering a QB Change From Mitch Trubisky To Kenny Pickett
On “Thursday Night Football,” Mike Tomlin led Pittsburgh’s offense once again had a forgettable game as the club fell to AFC North foe Cleveland 29-17.
Some have yearned for a QB change to breathe new life into the offense, but with veteran Mitchell Trubisky at the helm and 2022 first-round selection, Kenny Pickett waiting in the wings, the offense is doing just fine. In the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft, a quarterback was only selected by the Steelers.
It would be a grave error for Pittsburgh’s professional football club to elect not to use rookie Kenny Pickett at any stage in the 2022 NFL season. The error was already made when Mitchell Trubisky was given his first career start.

Mike Tomlin says that he will be adamant in his QB decision
After the game, a question regarding whether Steelers coach Mike Tomlin was thinking about changing the quarterback position or the offensive coordinator during the team’s lengthy break before its Week 4 matchup.
He responded directly: “I’m not in that mindset,” Mike Tomlin said.
“I’m interested in reviewing this tape and looking at the totality of it and figuring out how we collectively get better. So [the] answer to that question is definitively no.”

It is antiquated to play a seasoned bridge quarterback while letting a rookie quarterback “sit and study,” especially when it is obvious that the rookie is required to ignite the passing game.
After Week 3, the Steelers will have a great chance to make it right. After visiting the Browns on Thursday night, they will have a short break before hosting the Jets in Week 4. There isn’t a better setup for Pickett’s debut start in the NFL but it depends on Mike Tomlin.
