Derrick Henry Trade Rumors: Ravens To Trade Titans RB?

With one rumor stating that the Ravens are the “most interested” club before of the deadline of October 31, there is increasing talk about three-time Pro Bowl running back Derrick Henry joining the Ravens via an NFL trade dump by the Tennessee Titans.

The Ravens’ official website refers to it as “a tantalizing thought.” Is the report accurate, though?

Derrick Henry Trade Rumors: Ravens To Trade Titans RB?

The NFL trade deadline of 2023 is quickly approaching, and on Monday afternoon, all-pro safety Kevyn Byard was moved to the Eagles for a package that included Terrell Edmunds and 2024 Titans fifth- and sixth-round selections.

Many more moves are to be expected.

As the deadline draws near, many NFL fans have linked running back Derrick Henry to the Ravens. The Titans, who are probably in the midst of a reconstruction, are also in the race for the title.

“Team officials have downplayed the need for an established No. 1 running back, but the thought of Henry lining up behind Lamar Jackson has to intrigue the Ravens and concern Baltimore opponents who would have to figure out a way to contain two of the league’s most dynamic players,” Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic wrote.

With 435 yards and three touchdowns in his first game back in Tennessee, the 29-year-old appears to be on track for his sixth 1,000-yard season in six years.

Taking everything into account, we will propose that, for the time being at least, this is more of a “idea” than it is a result of lengthy discussions between the two teams; in other words, we haven’t yet reached the “potential deal” stage.

What variables are at play here? Despite his stellar resume, Henry is a 29-year-old back on a final-year contract for $12.9 million. Compared to Gus Edwards and the players Baltimore uses, is he worth $12.9 more?

Having said that, it will not be inexpensive to trade Henry. The team won’t make this kind of move merely to save money, especially considering that Over The Cap projects them to have over $99 million in cap space for the upcoming season.

“While taking on Henry’s deal would give Baltimore little room to work with after ironing out all the details, there’s no other available player who could have as much of a positive impact on this roster,” Alex Kay of Bleacher Report said.

Henry, for his part, isn’t anticipating the trade deadline on Tuesday or the speculations that will surround it just yet.

On Tuesday, Henry declared, “I’m here.” “This is where I work. All set to go for practice and concentrate on defeating the Falcons.

But everything has a cost, and if the Ravens can make the Titans an offer they can’t refuse, Tennessee should seriously think about taking some action that might aid in their impending rebuild, which is probably going to happen this summer.
