Deion Sanders Upset With Roughing The Passer Penalty On Bucs

In the NFC Wild Card game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday night, Deion Sanders was the voice of every NFL supporter.

Dak Prescott connected with Noah Brown for a 3-yard gain on 2nd-and-8 from the Dallas 42-yard line before being hit by Buccaneers defensive end Akiem Hicks. Though it seemed like an ordinary football hit, the seasoned defender was assessed a roughing the passer penalty.

Eli Manning was in fits of laughter on Monday after Deion Sanders made a joke about the New York Giants. Sanders appeared on the “ManningCast” with Eli and Peyton Manning to call the Wild Card game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Dallas Cowboys.

The Monday Night Football show has been hosted by the two brothers the whole season, and several guests have appeared each week to discuss the play in real-time. Sanders, a former Cowboy, was invited on the programme after the victory on Monday, but talk soon turned to Eli’s old team, the Giants.

Speaking about the Cowboys’ chances this season, Sanders said: “I truly believe they do [have a shot at the Super Bowl]. I truly do. If they can get past this game, I see them going against Philadelphia in the Championship game, and it’ll be a great one.”

Two-time Super Bowl champion Manning quickly interjected, saying: “You do know the Eagles play the Giants next week, right? You’re aware of that?”

Sanders had little to say in response, however, jokingly replying: “Yeah. The Eagles are gonna win. You know that, right? Come on. You don’t see Peyton coming on here talking about Indy? No. Let it go, Eli!”

Sanders, the Cowboys legend who is the coach of the Colorado Buffaloes, was on the “ManningCast” broadcast of the game and wondered, “Where is the roughing?”

“This is ridiculous,” he said.

Of course, Peyton and Eli Manning just chuckled awkwardly. They’ve benefitted from plenty of those “ridiculous” roughing calls.
