Sanders posted on Instagram, saying, “I got a Special visit today from a Future HOF’er and his sons @BumpNrunGilm0re.” “Dallas Stop Playing.” Sanders is obviously pushing for the Cowboys to take action and re-sign Gilmore for the following campaign.

Put otherwise, Sanders is in favor of the Cowboys re-signing Gilmore in the summer.

Former Defensive Player of the Year Gilmore enjoyed a successful 2023 campaign with the Cowboys. He recorded 13 passes defended, two interceptions, and 68 tackles.

Cowboys executive Stephen Jones essentially stated this week that re-signing Gilmore is not a priority at this time, despite how brilliantly he performed.

“It’s just having to pick and choose where you want to use your resources. Not only was [Stephon] really good for us on the field, but I’d say a better guy off the field in terms of how he goes about his business, just being a pro, helping the young guys,” Jones said, via The Landry Hat. I hope things go well for him and he was nothing but very productive for us and we don’t ever rule that out, either.”

Gilmore would be the third All-Pro in the cornerback rotation if he re-signs with the Cowboys. Only time will tell whether Sanders’s effect is worthwhile. In the end, Jones could decline Gilmore’s request to return and instead allow him to test the market by joining a competitor.
