Dave Roberts Has No Regrets On Predicting World Series

Although Dodgers manager Dave Roberts doesn’t believe his team’s playoff success was negatively impacted by his World Series guarantee.

Dave Roberts Predicts Dodgers Win In World Series

On the Dan Patrick Show back in March, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts made a bold statement that few managers would have the guts to make.

“In 2022, we will win the World Series. I get your point of view on that. Put it in writing that we are winning the World Series this year. The World Series is going our way. That is our priority and our aim.

Dave Roberts’ prediction turned out to be a little wrong, as you may have heard last weekend, as the 111-win Dodgers lost the NLDS in four games to the Padres.

When the Los Angeles Dodgers lost their NLDS game 3-1 to the San Diego Padres, manager Dave Roberts’ prediction that his team would win the 2022 World Series fell hollow.

In contrast, the manager didn’t appear to be under any pressure when speaking with Bill Plaschke of the Los Angeles Times on Tuesday. Roberts isn’t regretting his choice to ensure a World Series victory, according to Bill Plaschke in the Los Angeles Times.

“I don’t feel bad about it. I believe it demonstrated how much faith I have in the team and its players, he remarked. “I don’t believe that my comment from spring training had anything to do with the four games in October. Although I use words, they are not particularly potent. …

I won’t be guaranteeing it next year, but I still have a lot of faith in this group,” he said.

The Dodgers had a fantastic regular season, winning 111 games in the National League, tying a franchise record, and capturing their ninth West Division crown in the previous ten years. Even though the Padres had a 22-game advantage in the standings and had won 14 of their previous 19 games, Los Angeles was unable to advance to the Conference Series.

Dave Roberts will be the Dodger’s manager in 2019 after agreeing to a three-year extension in the previous summer. A chance to repeat their victory from 2020 awaits his pricey, star-studded team when they take the field in 2023, but no indication of the future is anticipated to come from the dugout.
