Davante Adams Joins Madden’s 99 Club for the Second Year in a Row

Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams joins Madden’s 99 club for the second year in a row, appearing in the upcoming Madden NFL 23 game with the highest possible overall rating. He joins San Francisco 49ers offensive tackle Trent Williams, and so far, they are currently the only ones in the club. However, more players are expected to join as we reach the game’s release date and all player’s ratings are released this week.

Last year, Davante Adams was part of the 99 club for his 2020 season’s stats where he had 1,374 receiving yards and a league-leading 18 touchdowns.

After being traded from the Green Bay Packers this offseason, Davante Adams is only the second wide receiver in Raiders history to receive the honor, the first player being Randy Moss back in Madden NFL 06. In modern sports games, a 99 overall is the highest rating you can give a player of any kind, whether it be overall or for specific stats and skills involved. It’s usually reserved only for the best of the best, which is something Davante Adams has rightfully proven as he makes a case for currently being the best wide receiver in the NFL.

Madden NFL 23 is the first game to release since the passing of former coach and sports commentator John Madden, the game’s namesake. The cover features the late John Madden on the back of the cover and is set to release on August 19th on all platforms. You can pre-order the game here.
