Daniel Jones Ruled Out Due To Injury, Tyrod Taylor To Save The Day With Terrible O-line?
Daniel Jones of the New York Giants claimed his neck is “sore” after leaving Sunday’s 31-16 defeat to the Miami Dolphins. Jones was replaced by Tyrod Taylor in the second half after Jones departed the game.
“It’s tough to say for sure, I’ve certainly dealt with similar issues,” Jones said about the injury.
On Monday, he will get an MRI.

Daniel Jones Ruled Out Due To Injury, Tyrod Taylor To Save The Day With Terrible O-line?
It’s difficult to think of another recent athlete who changed the overall narrative of his career more significantly or in a shorter period of time than Jones did in 2022.
Jones did not play the remaining 12 minutes after sustaining a neck injury Sunday, similar to the one that sidelined him for the final six games in 2021, when his 28th sack absorbed in five games this season behind a nonfunctional offensive line became too much to bear.

“I’ve certainly dealt with a similar issue,” Jones said, calling to mind when the Giants went 0-6 without him in 2021, averaged 9.3 points per game and got head coach Joe Judge fired.
The Giants (1-4) are plagued by a slew of old problems.
Seven sacks and 14 quarterback hits were conceded by the offensive line.

The Giants couldn’t protect Taylor in the last 12 minutes of Sunday’s 31-16 defeat to the Dolphins any better than they couldn’t protect Daniel Jones, their $160 million quarterback who is now out with a neck injury identical to the one that sidelined him for six games in 2021.
“He had the wind knocked out of him,” head coach Brian Daboll said. “We were set with the play, with people in there to do it, but then he looked at me and said he was good. He said he needed one [play off] and then it was a long break, and then he said was good to go [without missing a play].”

Outside of two quarters against the #Cardinals, the Giants offense has been a non factor through 4 games and have been outscored 77-9 in the first half through those four games.

Even backup quarterback Tyrod Taylor nearly had to miss a play after “getting the wind knocked out of him” on a heavy hit, but the two-minute warning saved him.
“[Daniel] has been getting hit quite a bit,” head coach Brian Daboll said. “We have to figure out a way to protect him better.”

The illusion of a tight game lasted until the first minute of the third quarter when Hill overcame a befuddled defence for a 69-yard touchdown to put the game out of reach at 24-10.
Taylor’s instincts to evacuate a collapsing pocket are faster than even Jones’ since he is a natural scrambler. It’s no coincidence that Taylor, who has also cleaned up in three blowout defeats this season, has been injured while attempting to make a play in each of the previous two games in which Jones has been injured.

“It’s tough,” tight end Darren Waller said when asked about watching Jones absorb hit after hit under 82 quarterback pressures. “Football is a violent game. I don’t think people take into account that if you make it healthy out of any game, it’s a blessing. Just praying that it’s not anything serious for him and we can get him back as soon as possible.”

Daboll frequently says, “We need to do a better job.” In his postgame news conference on Sunday, he uttered it – or a variation of it – six times in less than eight minutes.
