Damian Lillard Tries His Best to Lure Kevin Durant to the Blazers as Kyrie Uses KD as a Leverage During Negotiations With Nets

While guiding Team USA to Olympic gold in Tokyo last summer, Kevin Durant and Damian Lillard became closer. Well over a decade after being selected by the Seattle Supersonics in the NBA Draft, Kevin Durant still has a strong, personal affection for the Pacific Northwest. If the two-time Finals MVP were to really depart the Nets, it seems improbable that he would put the Blazers on his list of prospective new clubs.

In an apparent attempt to entice Kevin Durant to the Pacific Northwest, Blazers guard Damian Lillard published a photoshopped image of the Nets star as his teammate on Saturday. In other news, Kyrie Irving is using his friend, Durant as leverage to negotiate a contract with the Nets. So, there’s a good chance that the Nets might lose KD if they fail to retain Kyrie.

The internet had already taken off with the prospect of seeing Durant and Lillard on the same team when Lillard shared the image of Durant sporting a Blazers uniform on his Instagram story before quickly deleting it.

Lillard teases potential partnership with Kevin Durant

Trade speculations will pick up steam now that the NBA draft is over and free agency will commence on July 6 in a league with by far the most captivating offseason drama. This summer, there will be a lot of speculation about the Portland Trail Blazers.

Damian Lillard has already fueled the already wacky fire by posting a doctored image of Brooklyn Nets player Kevin Durant wearing a Trail Blazers outfit next to Lillard on his Instagram account on Saturday. In fact, Portland center Jusuf Nurkic tweeted the image using an emoji of a puzzle piece.

Irving and Durant are close buddies. He may even be somewhat responsible for Durant’s presence in Brooklyn. Without him, Brooklyn wouldn’t have Durant. They run the danger of ejecting Durant as well if they evict Irving.
