Following the agreement, Lillard released a quick message to his supporters, emphasizing that “casuals” were not included, before implying that something more was on the way in the midst of his departure.

Lillard, also known as Dame D.O.L.L.A., took to X on Wednesday evening to debut his newest rap song, “Farewell.”

In a number of the songs, he appears to be mocking the Portland Trail Blazers.

During his 11-year tenure in Portland, Lillard, 33, established himself as one of the league’s most devoted players, and he now joins another devoted superstar in Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Lillard appears to take barbs at his previous team in the song’s last stanza, which spans just under three minutes.

“I can never be replaced they’ll know sooner than later. An arrow pointed at who assumed it was greater. Amazing what I get in return for this labor. I continue leaving trails but won’t be for the Blazers,” he rapped.

“To the fans, man, I love you, it’s unconditional. Reasons for me leaving the city is nothing typical. So it’s imperative not to believe the narrative, just know that what I left is better than what I inherited.”

“I leave at peace because I know in the end that this is business. Hope you remember all the things you got to sit and witness. In the future, man, I hope we meet with hugs and kisses. But you should know that they the ones that chose another mission.”

Lillard certainly still loves Portland and the team’s supporters, but “Farewell” is his side of the tale, which blames the franchise.
