Since losing Brunson to the New York Knicks this summer, the Dallas Mavericks have been clamoring for another offensive creative. The Mavericks have depended far more heavily than normal on superstar Luka Doncic without Brunson on the roster. The Mavericks’ offense has become sluggish as a result of this.
Walker, a four-time All-Star, was ecstatic to join New York in free agency last summer and play for his hometown Knicks. Walker played just 37 games and averaged 11.6 points and 3.5 assists per game, but the partnership deteriorated due to ongoing knee problems and a decline in performance.
