Dallas Cowboys’ Ezekiel Elliott RB: NFL Fantasy Data & Stats Speculations 2022
Player Outlook
When it comes to picks for running backs in the league, Ezekiel Elliott of the Dallas Cowboys is a pretty safe pick. Elliott finished last season as the 7th highest running back in fantasy NFL, in his career thus far, he has never finished outside the top 12 thus history would suggest that he is a bulletproof choice.
However, in the latter half of last season, Elliott was a shade of his former self averaging just 3.5 yards per carry and 3.7 yards per target over his final nine games. Pollard at times looked like the better pick, but this can also be attributed to the fact that Elliott played for the majority of the second half with a torn PCL. Therefore, it would be wise to wait for a few game weeks to unfold before adding him to your team based on how he is performing after coming off a serious injury that hampered most of his 2021 campaign.

It is no secret that the 2021 season was not in line with what fans have come to expect of Elliott. Among Cowboys’ fans, Pollard has become a huge favorite, but it is hard to imagine Elliott not being given ample opportunities and starting role, given how much Elliott is being paid by the organization and the head coach’s faith in him. Mike McCarthy recently made the comment during training camp that he believes that the best is yet to come for the 27-year-old ball carrier.

Last year, Elliott finished seventh in the NFL in rushing yards (1,002) and rushing touchdowns (10). He has had a strong preseason and fans will be hoping that he is back to his best if the Cowboys were to do well this season. Additionally, Zeke has yet to have a season with less than 979 rushing yards, so his projected total seems very enticing.
