Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones Has Faith In Dak Prescott’s Quarterback Caliber

After five weeks and a 42-10 hammering, Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones admitted that his squad and the San Francisco 49ers had a gap.

“I’m not panicked. But the gap is — when something tells you what it is, don’t try to dream that it’s something else,” Jones said on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas Tuesday. “Now, what I’m trying to say is we can do better than what we did out there Sunday night. That’s a given.”

Jones reiterated his conviction in coach Mike McCarthy, the staff, quarterback Dak Prescott, and the roster that they can have the season they want by reaching the Super Bowl.

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones believes his beleaguered starting quarterback, Dak Prescott, can lead the team to the Super Bowl.

Jones’ weekly broadcast on 105.3 FM The FAN comes just days after the Cowboys were humiliated 42-10 on national television on “Sunday Night Football” by the San Francisco 49ers.

Against the 49ers, Prescott passed for 153 yards, was intercepted three times, and was sacked three times.

“Dak Prescott is a quarterback that can get us to the Super Bowl and that’s the way that’s going to be. I want to be real clear: Dak’s very capable of making this team be where we want it to go,” Jones said during the radio interview. “We should recognize that we had a very bad outing. And San Francisco had a very good outing.

Prescott has been the starting quarterback since his first season in 2016. Despite their potential, though, the Cowboys have yet to return to the NFC Championship game.

Something is still missing from the recipe for success. Whether it’s Prescott, the coaching, or the rest of the squad, the Cowboys don’t look to be on the verge of winning the Super Bowl.
