Corey Seager Slams Astros At Rangers World Series Parade
Just moments after Corey Seager lost his cool while hosting the Texas Rangers’ post-World Series party on Friday afternoon, he was bussing chicken at Raising Cane’s.

The Arlington drive-thru patrons and diners were taken aback when the World Series MVP showed up at the chicken finger restaurant on North Collins. They enthusiastically took photographs and signed autographs from the slugger.
At the Rangers’ post-championship celebration at the North Plaza outside of Globe Life Field, Seager had just finished speaking to a large crowd of supporters. About 500,000 spectators, according to Arlington Police, watched the march that went around the field. Huge crowds—roughly 30,000 people—crowded the North Plaza to hear Rangers P.A. announcer Chuck Morgan unveil the franchise’s inaugural title squad.

During the Rangers’ celebration on Friday, second-time World Series MVP Corey Seager responded to Astros third baseman Alex Bregman.
“I just have to say one thing,” Seager told the crowd outside the Rangers’ ballpark Globe Life Field. “Everybody was wondering what would happen if the Rangers didn’t win the World Series. I guess we’ll never know.”
The mic-drop incident was a direct reaction to Bregman, who had applied the same remark to his squad following the Astros’ AL West championship victory on the last day of the regular season.

It parodies the widely shared meme of Kanye West uttering those words in a 2005 Grammy address.
Following Friday’s march, Seager, 29, shocked onlookers by taking orders at Raising Cane’s, a fast-food restaurant.
Though Seager didn’t speak much, his words had a significant impact on Texas, particularly in Houston. Seager brought up a statement from Astros third baseman Alex Bregman that was written a month ago and shared via the team’s official social media account on the last day of the regular season when Houston defeated the Rangers to win the American League West.

“It was something that motivated us. It for sure did,” Seager said about an hour later at his Raising Cane’s appearance. “I kind of got put up by my teammates a little bit to do it and it was worth it. You just find ways to motivate yourself. We were a motivated team and you find any way to stay motivated.”
After the Rangers defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks 4-1 in Phoenix on Wednesday, Seager—who was awarded MVP of the World Series—said he hadn’t slept well the previous several days. The amount of fans that showed up for the celebration on Friday amazed him.

“It shows what this community wanted, and what they deserved,” he said. “[No sleep] is worth it. This is what you want. The parade was surreal. It truly was. For everybody to show up, it really was an awesome time.”
Apparently, Bregman paid a price for his remarks. In a pivotal Game 7 victory at Minute Maid Park on the road, the Rangers defeated the reigning champion Astros 11-4 to go on to the World Series.
