Conor McGregor Falls Out Of The Official UFC Rankings

Conor McGregor, a multiple-time UFC world champion and indisputable legend of mixed martial arts, has been delisted.

He is not among the top 15 contenders in the light-heavyweight division. Something like hasn’t occurred since his debut fights in 2014 and most definitely not since he solidified his position as a sport reference point.

For the Irishman, the idleness following his two losses to Dustin Poirier has led to an unexpected circumstance.

Conor McGregor does not have a ranking next to his name in the official UFC rankings for the first time since before his second octagon outing.

After a run of more than eight years, McGregor (22-6 MMA, 10-4 UFC), a former UFC lightweight and featherweight champion who hasn’t competed since breaking his leg against Dustin Poirier in their July 2021 trilogy bout, has dropped out of the rankings.

He previously held the No. 14 slot at 155 pounds, but McGregor is nowhere to be found in the most recent UFC rankings update.

Since winning over Max Holloway at UFC Fight Night 26 in August 2013 and following his second promotional appearance, this is the first time McGregor has fallen out of the rankings. Prior to his first UFC main event against Diego Brandao in July 2014, McGregor rose to No. 12 in the featherweight division rankings with the victory.

McGregor is an extreme fighter. A charismatic, despised figure who was also a gifted athlete who took centre stage in the greatest battle of all time against his bitter rival Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Conor McGregor Falls Out Of The Official UFC Rankings

The Notorious continued to be ranked as a lightweight in the UFC even though Eddie Alvarez was the subject of his most recent victory at 155 pounds in 2016. Since then, Dustin Poirier and Khabib Nurmagomedov have defeated McGregor twice in lightweight matches. He separated his losses against Nurmagomedov and “The Diamond” by defeating Donald Cerrone at 170 pounds while also losing to Poirier at welterweight.

Ever since defeating Max Holloway at featherweight in August 2013, McGregor has been listed in the UFC rankings. After defeating Holloway in his second UFC match, “The Notorious” proceeded to submit Jose Aldo to win the championship. The former two-division champion is currently trying to recover from an injury so that he may compete for another UFC championship.
