Commissioner Rodger Goodell Wants “Tush Push” Banned Completely
The hallmark short-yardage play of the Philadelphia Eagles is not one that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell enjoys. According to Dianna Russini of The Athletic, Goodell wants to “permanently” prohibit the Eagles’ “tush push” play.

Usually, Jalen Hurts, the quarterback, lines up behind All-Pro center Jason Kelce with two players in front of him. He then snaps the ball and falls forward, with the two players in front of him effectively pushing him into the end zone.

The infamous play is anticipated to be discussed and hotly contested by the competition committee throughout the offseason, according to Diana Russini of The Athletic. It’s interesting that there are no representation from the Eagles organization on the group, which is made up of owners, general managers, and coaches.
If a hypothetical vote on the play goes in Goodell’s favor, Jalen Hurts and the Eagles, who have made the play almost unstoppable, could have to go back to traditional smash-mouth formations.

It will be debated/voted on this offseason. However, there are zero #Eagles representatives on the competition committee. The Cowboys, Giants, & Commanders are all represented. pic.twitter.com/C4QxuLeZcF

“Though it will all come down to the voting, the most important opinion about the play may come from NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. I was told by a league source that Goodell wants to see this play removed from the game permanently,” said Russini.
“It’s apparent this is going to be heavily debated among the competition committee made up of owners, general managers and coaches,” added Russini. “It’s important to note that there isn’t a single person from the Eagles organization on the competition committee. However, three of their divisional opponents are represented: New York Giants owner John Mara, Cowboys COO Stephen Jones and Washington head coach Ron Rivera.”

Although they’re still unsure of how to stop it, opponents are openly anticipating the Eagles to run this play because it’s been so effective for them. Head coach of the San Francisco 49ers, Kyle Shanahan, provided his notion of a remedy prior to his team’s Sunday game against Philadelphia.
Does Roger Goodell have a private jet?
He does not, however, enjoy lifetime free use of a private aircraft. Goodell just wanted the option to use the NFL’s private jet service, with reimbursement to the league, as opposed to ESPN’s much-heralded assertion that he wants free private jet service until he goes wheels up (or down) for the final time.
