Commanders QB Carson Wentz’s Thoughtful Gesture, Gave Sam Howell His Suite

Carson Wentz made a sweet gesture to the quarterback who was starting for the Commanders for the first time in what was likely his final game as a member of the Washington Commanders.

Commanders QB Carson Wentz’s Thoughtful Gesture, Gave Sam Howell His Suite

Sam Howell, the quarterback for the Washington Commanders, earned his first career start on Sunday and guided his club to a convincing 26-6 victory over the Dallas Cowboys.

For his first start, Howell stated he had nearly 20 family members and friends in town. He completed 11 of his first 19 passes for 169 yards, a score, and an interception. He also scored a touchdown while rushing for 35 yards.

He disclosed during the game that Carson Wentz, a former starting quarterback, had done something special for him and his family. Wentz agreed to let Howell host his family in his suite for the game.

“I had a lot of family in town, and Carson, this tells the type of guy he is, he gave me his suite for the game,” Howell said, via USA Today. “I know a lot of people said some negative things about Carson, but he’s just an unbelievable human being. He’s just awesome to be around. For him to give me his suite for my first start, means a lot.”

Howell lauded Wentz and Taylor Heinicke for their unwavering support during his first campaign. Heinicke reportedly persuaded head coach Ron Rivera to give Howell the opportunity to start the championship game.

Wentz’s time in Washington may be coming to an end, but the myth that he is a horrible teammate can definitely be debunked. Wentz was hailed by his teammates both in the offseason and throughout the regular season. Despite his quarterbacking difficulties, he made a favourable impression on those with whom he shared a locker room over the previous season.
