Chris Paul Discusses Whether He Wants Draymond Green To Be Back With The Warriors Or Not

Chris Paul is prepared to put the transaction that brought him to the Warriors behind him. And from what it seems like, he’s prepared to add to Golden State’s “big three,” not take the place of one of them.

Paul was questioned about Draymond Green, who is now an unrestricted free agent, and whether he wants the 33-year-old forward to re-sign with the Warriors, at Fanatics’ “Merch Madness” event. Paul responded right away, strongly.

Paul totally acknowledged and accepted the fact that he had previously been the “sworn enemy” when he was asked if he had a message for Dub Nation.

In response to a question from TMZ Sports on Draymond Green’s future with Golden State and his message to Warriors supporters, Paul seemed thrilled.

“Absolutely,” Paul told the reporter about Golden State’s mindset in re-signing Draymond Green. “I’m excited, and I know I’ve been sort of the sworn enemy for a long time, but I cannot wait to be in that locker room with all of those guys.”

Paul also addressed a subject related to the trade in general that was somewhat of an elephant in the room. In particular, the fact that he recently engaged in some back-and-forth with the Warriors and players like Steph Curry.

Draymond Green recently declined the $27.6 million player option he had received to sign as an unrestricted free agent. However, the Warriors now have the option to restructure Green’s deal and resign him after sending Jordan Poole to the Wizards in return for Paul.

For the Warriors, re-signing Draymond Green makes sense. Green was a crucial component of the Warriors’ success and might continue to play a significant role for the group. Golden State failed to maintain that level of play after the 2021–22 championship season, and they mostly appeared to be shells of their former selves last season.
